What is Ale and How is It Made

14 Jun

“Ale” was originally used to describe a drink that didn’t contain hops. The term eventually evolved and now refers to a bitter barley drink which is fermented in room temperature. Ale is one of the types of beer that makes use of a warm fermentation process by using malt barley and brewers’ yeast. The yeast is an agent that helps the beer ferment rapidly and gives the beverage its sweet, fruity, and full bodied flavor. Most ales include “hops” which help in preserving the beer and give it a bitter herbal flavor which gives the malt sweetness a good balance.

There are several varieties of ale. Brown ale is usually hopped lightly and has a mild nutty flavor. Pale ale on the other hand refers to malt dried beers with coke. Scotch ales are strong malty and dark. Burton ale is dark, strong, semi-sweet and is brewed for a year or more. Old ale refers to strong beer and has sharp flavors. Belgian ales are light bodied but are high in alcoholic content.

Caffeine Kicks And Very Poor Sleep

31 Aug

Let me tell you something about myself that I am ashamed of at the moment. I am ashamed of this because I am a personal life coach and I teach others how to free themselves from this, but for some crazy reason, I can not do it for myself. This indeed is very hypocritical and I need to do something about it. But to let you guys know what I am dealing, it has everything to do with my sleeping habits. I have very poor sleeping habits that totally violate everything I teach when it comes to being a success. I often go bed extremely late in the morning and I wake up with only about 4 hours of sleep. This is why I believe that I am not as productive as I could be. To cope with the results of my poor sleeping habits, I sip on gourmet coffee in the morning to get a little caffeine kick.
